Myobrace

Do you notice any of the following in your child?

– Early signs of tooth crowding or a misaligned bite

– A tendency to breathe through their mouth than their nose, snoring

– Dark circles under their eyes or a constant look of fatigue

– Restlessness or an inability to stay focused

– Poor posture with their head positioned forward

– Bed wetting

– Teeth grinding

– Behavioral problems and learning difficulties

If your child exhibits any of these symptoms, it could be a sign of an underlying issue that, if not addressed early, could lead to more significant problems in adulthood.

Crowded teeth, a narrow palate, and crossbites are not only cosmetic problems, but they make breathing much more difficult. The body tries to find ways to compensate, eventually leading to more crowding and narrowing jaw problems, unhealthy posture, and even sleep apnea.

WHAT CAUSES CROWDING?

Crowding occurs when the upper arch, called the palate, is under-developed, so the teeth do not have enough room to come in straight. This can be due to genetics, tongue positioning during growth and development, or other habits, such as thumb sucking, pacifier or blanket sucking, tongue thrust, reverse swallow.

As a consequence, the teeth come in crowded and misaligned. The future implications of this are grinding and clenching that can lead to significant TMJ problems and worn down teeth; mouth breathing as opposed to nasal breathing; sleep apnea, and neck, hip and back problems.

Myobrace is a natural way to help properly develop the arches early on, to give the teeth room they need to come in straight, preventing the need for extensive orthodontic treatment later on and avoiding the life-long health issues that accompany narrow arches and a crowded dentition.

Myobrace also helps to establish nasal breathing, improve lip seal, swallowing and train the tongue to sit at the roof of the mouth.

Our ultimate goal is to improve quality of life and eliminate destructive oral habits.

Myobrace APPS Chart
The appliances are worn for just 1-2 hours each day, plus overnight while sleeping. There are 3-4 stages of appliances that are designed for each dentition, which are specific to that age group. A successful treatment outcome requires good patient’s compliance following myofunctional training at every step of the treatment, breathing exercises, and daily appliance wear.
